• Column Permissions

  Led a multi-quarter, cross-team re-architecture to bring customizable permissions to database properties. Huge scope for this feature as the downstream effects of permission changes touched nearly every surface of the app. Prototyped three distinct data models, assessed the tradeoffs, and drove alignment with eng leadership. Led both the product work and technical design and a team of three engineers plus design and UXR, and coordinated work across four engineering teams.

  Delivered M1: a full read/write path across two new Postgres tables, laying the foundation for permissions enforcement.

  Built Forms as a new database view and launched it on stage during the Make With Notion keynote. Co-owned data model design for the Form Editor and Form Viewer. Built new permission model for Public Forms so non-Notion users could respond. Extended shared property rendering foundation for question types, question validation, and customizations.

• Conditional Logic in Forms

  Designed and built the entire conditional foundation of logic in Notion Forms, from the data model up to the drag interactions: multi-level logic nesting, dragging-to-reorder across the tree, inserting questions into the middle of existing logic, and support for multiple property types and advanced logic operators.

• Databases UI/UX Revamp

  Notion · July 2025

  A ground-up revamp of the database experience: cleaner menu organization, hover animations, property creation, overflow layouts, and empty states.

  I led a few workstreams of the project, working with high attention to detail and polish. This is the type of project where each task individually felt small, with tons of gnarly paper cuts, but collectively amounted to an experience that felt really smooth.

• Icon Picker

  Built one of Notion's most requested features end to end as my first solo project: a searchable library of SVG icons anyone could attach onto a page.

  Designed endpoints to serve icons and their color variations, optimized client performance in rendering, and set the technical foundation for many more features built on top: property and view icons, randomized picker, recents.

• Search Config Audit Log

  Salesforce · Jan 2022 · Team Lead

  An internal tool giving the Search team an audit trail for all our dynamic config changes. This filled a huge gap in visibility for who changed what, when, and across which environments.

  Led a team of three contractors through the build.

  Built a cross-platform inventory app client for a small business (liquor store), automating their ordering, delivery, and stock control.

• Word Chain

  2016 · Alexa Skill

  Published a conversational word game that became one of the top performing game skills on Alexa, with 839 unique players between March and May 2017.
